How To Cure Hemorrhoids: Treatment Approaches Recommended By Specialists

ask your specialist about the right treatment
Hemorrhoids are structures found between the anus and the lower rectum. It actually helps in controlling the stool; however, when it becomes swollen or irritated, it is referred to as “piles.” This condition can be caused by several reasons and can be classified differently. Some of the common reasons of piles are: prolonged sitting in the toilet, straining during a bowel movement, or during pregnancy, which oftentimes cannot be avoided. Other factors that can also cause swollen hemorrhoids are chronic constipation, obesity, having anal intercourse, diarrhea, following a low-fiber diet, etc.

Although this condition is commonly associated with older people, young ones can also suffer from it. This condition usually occurs among older people because some veins and tissues in the anal canal become weak when aging. But some teenagers also suffer from this condition due to several factors.

There are 2 classifications of hemorrhoids: the internal hemorrhoid and the external hemorrhoid. The internal type is found inside the rectum. Rectal bleeding is observed, however, painless. External on the other hand is found under the skin. Pain and swelling is observed in the area of the anus.

Specialists say that there are different approaches on how to cure hemorrhoids. Of course the treatments depend on the type of the hemorrhoid, the severity of the situation, and others. Patients have the right to choose the treatment they want but there are a lot available.

Surgical procedure is one of the options offered to patients suffering from hemorrhoids. The procedure will depend on the size of the hemorrhoid, so it is best to talk to a specialist before choosing one. There are 2 surgical procedures to choose from: hemorrhoidectomy and hemorrhoid stapling. Hemorrhoidectomy is recommended for larger hemorrhoids, while stapling is a procedure done to block blood flow into the tissue.

Laser treatment is an invasive technique preferred by many patients today. It has a lot of advantages that makes it the best choice when it comes to hemorrhoid removal. Stitches can be avoided when this type of treatment is chosen. With this type of treatment, specialists won’t have a problem locating the hemorrhoid and getting an excellent view of it, which helps in handling the muscles well. Damages from the treatment are lesser and recovery is faster.

For patients experiencing less severe pain, home remedies can be done in order to alleviate pain and itching. Some of the remedies that can be used at home are suppositories and hemorrhoid creams. Washing the area with water only is also advisable. Avoid using soap and toilet paper when washing, and use pain relievers when needed.
